A very attractive and unusually small proportioned, country made, late 17th cent oak coffer, this has panelling to the lid, front and sides with arcade style carving to the top rail. The interior has its original candle box. This is an excellent strong little coffer in fine condition, the height is ideal for sitting on if this is required. The right hand upright stile is slightly wider than the left, this is entirely original. Sizes: 30 ¾ “(78cms) wide, 16”(40cms) deep, 18 ½ “(47cms) high. Date circa 1680. I have been in the antiques business since 1962, starting in the family business in Staffordshire.
In the early 1970’s I moved to Hertfordshire where I opened my own business and created a limited company.

I source my stock through many contacts built up over the years. This continues to consist of carefully chosen high quality 17th 18th and 19th century of furniture, particularly specialising in articles with their own fine original colour and also many interesting smaller items of the same periods.
