Unusually small mid 19th.c. French marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1840. Just 33½" wide. Original grey marble top with rounded corners and a moulded edge over a chest of four long drawers. Particularly well figured walnut veneers arranged in a striking symmetrical pattern across the front and sides. Shallow top drawer with a shaped front continued on the sides of the cabinet. Original inlaid brass escutcheons to each drawer. Moulded plinth also veneered to match. Oak drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
