Small Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers.
This is a small and very nicely proportioned early 19th C English mahogany 4 drawer chest.
It would date to the late Regency period, about 1820.
It is made of carefully chosen well figured mahogany veneers of beautiful colour. It has never been over cleaned and has a rich deep patination.
It has 4 deep drawers, making it very practical for clothes storage and everyday use.
It is in excellent condition and has reeded mouldings around the top and the base, cockbeaded drawers, and hand cut finely dovetailed pine drawer linings.
The 'rope twist' ring handles with cast brass back plates are old replacements and very much in the style of the period. The iron locks to each of the drawers are original.
An honest 'clean' antique chest of drawers properly made of quality materials that has withstood the rigours of time well. A versatile piece of antique furniture that will complement many period homes.
