Small Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers
This is a really lovely little Georgian antique chest of drawers.
Standing on its original bracket feet, it is made of mahogany and oak and has loads of character and charm.
It is of a notable small size also, under 3 feet wide and high, and would date to about 1790.
The top has a border of boxwood stringing and mahogany crossbanding.
The drawers are cockbeaded and the keyholes have been nicely inlaid with boxwood escutcheons. They retain their original iron locks and brass swan neck handles.The drawer linings are also original, pine and of hand cut dovetail construction.
The sides of the chest are solid oak and never been veneered.
An exceptional chest of drawers, beautifully faded in colour and in very good condition throughout.
