Delightful set of six small early 19th.c. oak cottage dining chairs c.1800. The design of the backrest is a simplified vernacular version of the fashionable Chippendale chairs of the period with a shaped top rail and baluster silhouette back splat. Over board seats with a thumb moulded edge, raised on square legs, joined with single stretchers at the front and rear and double stretchers at the sides for extra strength. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
