Sideboard & Canteen of Silver Plate Cutlery
An excellent mahogany sideboard, fitted out with a magnificent 169 piece canteen of Sheffield silver plate cutlery in the Kings Pattern. This was made in England, it dates from the 1930-1950’s.
The sideboard itself is of amazing quality and design. It has a breakfront design, beautiful flame mahogany grain patterns and fine hand cut dovetailed joints. The condition is superb, we have had it re-polished, there is hardly any wear to be seen.
The drawers are fitted out with green felt dividers, made especially for this superb set of silver plate cutlery. The cutlery is in the classic Kings Pattern, and is of amazing quality. It is in very good condition, it would benefit from a good clean.
Included in the set are: 12 table knives, 12 table forks, 12 soup spoons, 12 cheese knives, 12 dessert forks, 12 dessert spoons, 24 dessert eaters, 24 fish eaters, 12 grapefruit spoons, 12 tea spoons, 12 coffee spoons, 2 fish servers, 1 soup ladle, 2 servers, 4 table spoons, 4 fruit spoons.
This complete set is labelled in the drawers and everything fits perfectly. The only exception is with the set of four fruit spoons, one of the four is very slightly smaller than the other three, but is very close in design. One of each separate design is shown in the images.
The pair of fish servers are exceptionally beautiful, and they are the only pieces which do not have the Kings pattern, they have an engraving of a family crest.
