This is a fine quality set of three Regency nest of antique tables, with great proportions, constructed from mahogany & rosewood, circa 1820, in excellent original condition.

Description:
This is a fine quality set of three Regency nest of tables, with great proportions, constructed from mahogany & rosewood, circa 1820, in excellent original condition. The tops are constructed with fine quality rosewood veneers and the legs of mahogany, which is decorated with “simulated rosewood”, which is the traditional and highly skilled method of painting mahogany to appear like rosewood (see paragraph below – Simulated Rosewood, for more information). The table-tops feature fantastic grain configuration and colour to the tops, which also feature low galleries. The nests of antique tables are supported by refined ring turned “bamboo” style legs, which in turn are united by an elegant cross-stretcher (for added strength) and terminate on elegant refined splayed feet. The tables display superb craftsmanship and each of them slides comfortably into each other.
The nest of tables boast a rich brown colour and they are in excellent robust condition. This is an extremely useful piece of antique furniture and a great asset to have in any living or dining room or hallway, as they consume very little space.
They have a beautiful deep rich patina, which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care they have received. This truly is a very beautiful item with quality construction and is original throughout. This item would certainly grace any home, so don’t miss out on your chance to own such a lovely antique item.
Simulated Rosewood:
Simulated rosewood is the process of taking a more common wood and altering its appearance to make it appear as rosewood. This rose to prominence in the Regency period, when exotic woods became more and more popular, sparking a desire to imitate them. Achieved by applying a base colour, over which a ‘graining’ colour would be painted, then swept with a graining comb and finished with varnish, simulated rosewood became an art form in its own right, with highly skilled painters. This led to simulated rosewood becoming as desirable as genuine rosewood by the end of the Regency period.
Condition Report:
This nest of tables is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and tops, but nothing significant, considering their age. The tables have been professionally French polished in our workshop. The legs, stretchers and feet are sturdy and are free from any breaks. Each of the tables slides comfortably into each other. This item is well constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.

We offer free delivery to mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland (anywhere south of Stirling). We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.

Free 14 Days UK Returns & Refunds:
A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit).
