Circa 1815, set of 6 (4 + 2) classical Regency mahogany dining chairs. The armchairs have a stylised splat with a flamed mahogany centre panel framed in ebonised wood. The top rail and the arms are scrolled and finish in a very stylish curvaceous shape with roundels on both ends similar to the top of the legs. There is a drop in seat and below is a bow fronted rail which is ribbed. The chairs stand on 4 sabre legs which are also ribbed to the sides. The single chairs are of similar design to the armchairs but are slightly smaller in scale, again with carved roundels at the terminal points. Very elegant and stylish.
