Set of 6 Gillows Rosewood Dining Chairs Gillows Lancaster Rosewood %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Fine set of 19th century solid rosewood dining chairs by GILLOWS of LANCASTER. This lovely set of chairs is typical of Gillows chairs from the period, the quality of the carving etc. is outstanding. They all have cane work seats with flat squab cushions. All the chairs are stamped I.B on the inside of the frame which is the stamp for ISAAC BOULTON who was a chair maker for Gillows, one is also hand signed in pencil with a date of 1836. Please note they are not stamped Gillows anywhere but this is not unusual.

They are all in good original condition with no breaks and no repairs and all remain structurally sound. A couple of the cane seats could do with being re-done. They are all a lovely colour with waxed finish.

If you are looking for a good set of six chairs you could not go wrong with this set, highest quality by one of England's finest antique furniture makers.
