This is a set of 6 antique buckle back chairs. An English, rosewood suite of dining seats, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.
Striking form and attractive colour distinguish this suite of chairs
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select stocks show fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
Offering comfortable and supportive, deeply stuffed seating with traditionally webbed cushions
Superb buckle back with prominent upper rail
Gently rolled rails with serpentine curvature catch the eye
Distinctive lower rail accentuated with scroll motif
Stout, shield shape cushion upholstered with a delightful green foliate patterned textile
Trimmed beautifully with a quality forest green brocade trim
Carved knees adorned with reverse scroll detail
Raised upon sinuous cabriole legs with turned out toes, splayed square legs to rear
Some light marks to fabric commensurate with careful use
