very handsome example of a scottish drumhead grandfather antique clock by Thomas Dobbie, Glasgow.
lovely simple painted face with subsidiary seconds and date dials, the hood with decorative carved scroll mouldings, tapering case in lovely flame mahogany with crossbanding detail, arched panelled base.
the eight day movement strikes the hour on a gong.
this super clock really is a fine example of a scottish drumhead in good clean condition and is not done justice in the photographs.
