Regency Scottish Mahogany & Inlaid Pembroke Table
Attractive Scottish Regency flame mahogany Pembroke table originating from Edinburgh, c.1820. The rounded rectangular top centred by an inlaid fan paterae and edged with satinwood crossbanding and boxwood and ebony stringing. With an opening drawer to one end and a dummy drawer to the other both with rope twist banding and flanked by satinwood rectangles, raised on on square tapering legs with ‘gothic end and dot’ inlay and terminating in brass caps with ceramic castors.
Recently repolished and in very good condition, it has a working lock to the drawer and comes with a key, there is an old repair to one leg and all the legs and joints are firm, some losses to the boxwood stringing on the drawer edge whilst the top has had some patches put in.
