Rare Pair Of Signed George 1st Candle Sticks. %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Fine pair of rare 'signed' early 18th century brass candlesticks impressed 'Joseph Wood' to each base. To quote the definitive book on brass objects ,'The Brass Book' by Nancy and Herbert Schiffer, one pair in a thousand of early sticks were impressed by the maker.
A handsome looking pair of candlesticks, with cast turned stems of a seemed construction, standing on concave cornered bases with the trademark scraped undersides.
