This is an attractive and most unusual Chinese lacquered writing desk with a lovely bronze colour and all over decoration of intricate scrolling flowering stems. This is a very practical desk with many useful drawers and a large work surface. The lacquer is in generally good condition overall with only a few minor losses. The decorative pierced frieze is in the typical Chinese geometric design and the desk is raised on square legs with spade feet. The desk dates from around 1900 and measures 140 cms wide by 64 cms deep and is 82 cms high.
