This Splendid Victorian Oak & Iron Silver Chest Trunk is a very Pleasing example in great condition having a lovely Patina, and bearing the Property Brass Name plate of Robert B. Brassey, together with the Famous Brass Name Plate of R & S Garrard & Co, Crown Goldsmiths & Jewellers, 25 Haymarket. London.W., Goldsmiths and Jewellers to the Queen dating the chest Between 1843-1909, being Iron Bound, with Original Clasps and Handles, complete with Locks, One of which is working with a Key, Good Hinges and Stay, the Interior has some of the Original Paper still left in places which we have decided to leave in place as found, the base Boards show some sign of old worm, however they are all solid and intact with no new worm traces, as are the Base Runners. All in all a lovely piece of Classic English Craftsmanship steeped in History with a very practical use.
