A very fine early 18th Century English Chest on Chest with engraved and split pin original brasses and oak lined drawers.

Of attractively small and compact proportion, with a wonderful colour and patina to the richly figured walnut. Simple ovolu moulding to the cornice and broad mouldings at waist. The sides with bookmatched walnut veneers deeply crossbanded and the whole in excellent original condition and from a Sussex country estate – the property of a Gentleman.

This is a very finely worked and high quality piece of early English antique furniture. The drawers have beautiful featherbanded borders and the mouldings to the drawers and reeded. The back is oak planked and the triple top drawers are accessible and useable.

Dating from c. 1700

A superb and rare piece.
