Primitive 18thC Welsh Fruitwood Candle Stand
A superb rare 18thC Welsh Candle Stand in Fruitwood and Oak. Featuring a single slab octagonal oak top with simple fruitwood mouldings to outer edges supported on a primitively shaped fruitwood stem standing on three silhouette oak legs fixed by oak dowels.
Original throughout and in absolutely beautiful condition with superb colour and patina and fantastic grain.
Standing level and sturdy with a nice usable sized top perfect for a couple of glasses of wine or lamp or vase. With just a small number of very old worm holes to mention (which we have treated just as a matter of practice) as is always the case with early fruitwood.
An absolutely lovely period piece of early Welsh furniture.
Height 71cm. Too 38cm x 32cm
