fine quality pollard oak davenport in the aesthetic movement style.
the top with brass gallery and original tooled leather writing slope lifting to interior fitted with two drawers and two dummy drawers, decorative carved designs, pull out drawer to the side fitted with inkwell and pencil compartments, raised on wonderful turned and reeded legs fitted with castors, undertier shelf below.
lid mounted with silver placque engraved with the name of the person the davenport was presented to and dated 1885.
normal marks consistent with age and use but overall this unusual davenport is in very good condition with a very pleasing colour and patina.
