A fine quality early Victorian period magazine cabinet or rack (formerly a coal purdonium). Very well constructed in solid mahogany with attractive plum pudding mahogany veneers. With canted corners and imposing corbels. The single door bears a brass inset monogram/crest. It opens to reveal a compartment suitable for the storage of magazines and papers. It could also be used as a pedestal to take a lamp or a bronze figure. It is finished to all four sides. Offered for sale in excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina.
