An English Georgian twin fusee bracket/table antique clock. An elegant lancet top mahogany case with choice flame veneers. Brass sound fretted side panels with silk backing. An engraved cast brass bezel with convex glass and standing on brass ball feet. An arched glass back door. A convex dial with blued steel hands signed 'Parkinson & Frodsham, London'. A strike/silent lever to the top of the dial. A quality double fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell of 8-day duration. Signed 'Parkinson & Frodsham London' to the backplate and border engraving. A good quality steel and brass pendulum with engraving. A pendulum transportation lock. Circa 1820.
Parkinson & Frodsham are recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1801-1850. They are highly regarded clockmakers and illustrated in various antique clock reference books.
