Pair of Victorian mahogany Lady's writing desks
It is very unusual to find two late Victorian writing antique tables still together after all these years. As furnishing pieces, these look so much better together. The fine writing tables date to around 1890 and are made in solid mahogany. They are small and elegant and won't overpower your space even as a pair.
The Lady's writing tables have inset rexine tops which are both in good order. They have a deep drawer and a lap drawer and are raised on mouldeed and tapering square section legs and terminate in pot casters. There is something of the Regency about their design.
The desks are in sound antique condition. Replacement handles which are nonetheless attractive and in keeping. The mahogany is rich and polished. Joints and drawers are good. No sign of worm. Minor bang to one corner - see photo. Marks from usage and wear as you would expect.
Each writing desk is 34 inches wide and 21 inches deep and 29 inches high.
