This is a magnificent pair of vintage Chinese sang de boeuf table lamps with brass top fittings standing on wooden stands, circa 1990s. They have the Meiping (or Plum Vase) shape - having tall and slender bodies with a short narrow necks, broad rounded shoulders, tapering to narrow bases. They are beautifully and heavily potted with each base weighing approximately 5 and a half kilos. Though obviously a pair, there are small differences in shape and weight which demonstrate their hand potted origins.

One of the photographs shows the lamps matched with 45cm tapered drum, ivory coloured, linen effect shades. Similar shades can be acquired from about £25 each.

One lamp has a small label attached to the base with the name Carlos Remes and the date 10.09.96, giving us a precise date when these lamps were originally tested and offered for sale.

Condition: These lamps are in very good vintage condition without chips and cracks. There is the odd scratch on the bases commensurate with 25 years of use. They have had new plugs fitted to the generous lengths of gold PVC covered cable, and have been high voltage tested by our electrician.
