This is a pair of antique extending novel rests. An English, oak book trough, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
Fascinating as a pair, each extending to accommodate further favourites
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select oak shows fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays
Rich caramel hues beam beneath the wax polish finish
Each rest extending through a range of 18.5cm (7.25'')
Crafted with attractive serpentine shaped ends
Finished with maker's stamps to the rear
Dressed with protective green baize to the underside
