Rare pair of Chinese carved soapstone figurine table lamps dating from the Cultural Revolution era, 1960s

The figures are finely carved in green soapstone, each standing on a white and grey soapstone plinth and round brass base with four protruding feet.

One figure, a young girl, carries a rabbit with a another rabbit at her feet. The other figure, a woman, wears a head scarf tied around her neck and holds a wheat sheaf and scythe.

These lamps have been recently rewired by a professional electrician & high voltage tested. They are both fitted with UK plugs.
