A rare 18th Century Ottoman Empire Blunderbuss.
This striking short-barrel Blunderbuss features a beautiful inlay of brass work patterns on top of the barrel, from the muzzle to the handle, and is finished with a brass buttplate at the rear.
A decorative brass plate is fixed to the side of the stock, with a fastening for a shoulder strap. On the other side of the walnut stock, the flintlock hammer features over a brass trigger and patterned wooden, pistol-like grip. A truly splendid decorative piece.
Period: Ottoman Empire. (C. 1780).
