Oak Globe Wernicke stacking bookcase
This is a good quality genuine Edwardian oak stacking bookcase made by 'The Globe-Wernicke Co, Ltd' circa 1900.
It has a simple moulded top above five bookcase sections each with a lift and slide glass door with original brass knob handles. The doors have a concealed scissor action mechanism which hooks the top of the door to the back of the bookcase so that they cannot fall out and the sides are edged with metal straps (which means it is a premium version of this popular bookcase). The plinth base is of a similar roll design to the top.
These bookcases can of course be very easily moved as each section can be separated from the next. It is also possible to add/remove sections from other Wernicke bookcases to suit your needs.
This bookcase is in good condition with no breaks and the doors all lifting as they should. It has marks consistent with useage as should be expected for its age.
Please contact me with any questions or for more photos, remember to include you email address.
