This is superb quality antique George III oak grandfather antique clock, circa 1780 constructed by Tomkinson of Nantwich, Cheshire. It has an 8 day striking mechanism in working order which keeps good time. It is a single bell strike it strikes on the hour The antique clock is constructed of oak with mahogany cross banding to the door and plinth. The hood features a gilded decorated frieze with a doomed / pagoda hood and Corinthian columns to the side. There is a brass escutcheon lock and working key. The Corinthian columns also feature on the main body of the antique clock. PriceDelivery to any address in mainland England & Wales is £65. The base of the clock has also been restored some time ago - there are replacement feet which are probably because it stood on a floor in a house that had no damp course or the feet were removed to fit into a room. There is a working lock and key for the central door. Considering the age of this item, this clock is in very good condition. Free of active wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
