Miniature French Ebonised Wall Clock
Miniature French Ebonised wall antique clock in a slim case with fine gilded ormolu mounts with open fretwork and galleried centre.
The top pediment with gilded chased decoration culminating in two Gothic style spires and embellished central finial. Fine concentric ringing to the centre of the dial with open fretwork bezel, Roman numerals and original steel hands.
Fourteen day brass plated movement signed Grandvoinet with very fine wheelwork and silk suspended fire gilded ornate pendulum with brocot adjuster to the front of the dial. C.1810
Tardy’s ‘Dictionnaire Des Horlogers Francais’ lists Grandvoinet as working from the Quai De La Megisserie, Paris from 1806 to 1820.
