Description
A fine and rare mid-late 17th century oak moulded front mule chest with good proportions and exhibiting exceptional patina and colour.
The three plank oak top with moulded edges, which is secured on ring hinges leads down to a superbly embellished front consisting of vertical chamfered applied moulded decoration with a dental moulding below.
Leading down from this are vertically applied split turned mouldings, set at intervals between three oak panels with further round split mouldings with dental moulding below.
Finally the draw which has a smooth action is set with two brass pearl drop handles, set against flower petal brass plates, all of which and that which is stated above sits and supported upon original tall feet.
