A French brass cased striking carriage antique clock by noted maker Francois Arsene Margaine. An enamel dial with blued steel 'moon' hands and black Roman numerals, Retailers name on the dial 'Alstons & Hallam EC (London). An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. Push button repeating. Movement backplate with Margaine stamped mark and numbered 16687.. A lever escapement. Circa 1890.
