Maple and Co were the Rolls Royce of British antique furniture makers at the end of the nineteenth century. Their furniture was beautifully made and very opulent looking but at the same time not flashy and over the top. It was smart town furniture for the wealthy. They traded in London and Paris.

This side cabinet is typical of their work. It is made in solid mahogany and made to a Georgian design. The cupboard is inlaid with oval motifs in box wood stringing to the two recessed doors. The full length drawer is inlaid with satinwood banding. The top is also edged in satin wood banding.

The drawer has its original gilt bronze handles and the cupboard retains its original lock and key.

This is a very smart small sideboard or side cabinet. The condition is generally good. Minor marks from age and usage as you would expect.

The side cabinet is 36 inches high and 36 inches wide and 16.5 inches deep.
