Mahogany Bookcase By John Taylor Of Edinburgh
Superb Edwardian John Taylor of Edinburgh revolving bookcase in excellent condition. The two tier book space houses 3 small drawers with beautiful embossed ring handles. This solid mahogany bookcase has beautiful inlaid satinwood decoration edging the top, drawers and the centre of the splats that unit the tiers. The bookcase sits on a revolving cruciform base on casters and has makers plaque attached. A very practical and attractive item of useful proportions offering generous and convenient storage for many books creating a small library in any room.
John Taylor and Son, based in Edinburgh, were renowned cabinet makers and upholsterers, established in 1825. They were known for their high-quality craftsmanship and stylish designs, often using the finest timbers.
