A quality Cheshire Georgian longcase clock of smaller proportions. An oak case with chequered banded inlays and marquetry panels. Fluted hood and trunk side columns with canted base sides. A brass dial with silvered chapter ring, date and seconds. Blued steel hands and four seasons corner spandrels which is distinctive to this maker. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell with ringed pillars and more unusual layout.

The Seddon family of clockmakers are well regarded. Daniel Seddon of Frodsham worked 1754-1785.
