Liberty & Co, William Birch, Arts and Crafts Table

A stylish Arts and Crafts Movement Walnut side table with beautiful ringed turned splayed legs with an under - tier, designed and made at the acclaimed William Birch Workshops of High Wycombe and retailed exclusively through the famous luxury London shop Liberty & Co, Regent Street, London c.1895.
The table has a large squared top with moulded edge and a substantial overhang which was fashionable at the time being known as the Scottish or Glasgow style.

As is typical of William Birch pieces there is no makers mark. However antique experts, Burstow and Hewett Auction House have confirmed in writing that this is a William Birch side table.
