Late Victorian mahogany parcel gilt duet piano stool
An elegant and very high quality mahogany duet piano stool dating to the late Victorian period. The upholstered seat lifts to reveal two inner compartments to store music sheets. This useful storage space may nowadays be used for other items, such as magazines or linen if placed in a bedroom setting at the foot of a bed. The legs and stretchers are beautifully ring turned. The legs terminate in brass castors. The seat rails are decorated with parcel gilt. The lift-up seat has been traditionally re-upholstered by The Sitting Place from the frame and is then finished in Hardwick fabric by Jim Dickens (light blue and gold). The striking pattern is perfectly captured on the seat and also below the lift-up seat. This stylish stool is not only very pleasing to the eye but is also practical and can be placed in a living room setting, a bedroom setting, an alcove or even used as a window seat.
Where applicable, our upholstered items of stock are fully newly traditionally re-upholstered in-house using only traditional materials and no foam so as to be in-keeping with the age of the piece as an antique.

Returns policy
There is a right to cancel an order from the moment the order is placed to The Sitting Place up to 14 days from the day the item is delivered/received. In the unlikely event that the customer/buyer is not pleased with a purchase made from The Sitting Place, the item in question may be returned. Notification of a return to The Sitting Place is to be made by the customer by email or by phone on +44(0)7341770324.
The item needs to be returned within a further 14 days to The Sitting Place and in the condition the item was received and suitable for re-sale. The customer is to take reasonable care and ensure that the item is well protected when returning the item. The customer is informed that a deduction of the refund will be made to cover for delivery cost to complete the return of the item(s) (unless otherwise agreed). A further reduction of the refund can be made by The Sitting Place if the value of the item has been reduced as a result of the customer handling the item more than was necessary or as a result of the item being soiled and/or damaged.
The return of the item will be arranged by The Sitting Place. Refunds will be made to the customer/buyer, within 14 days of The Sitting Place receiving the returned item(s). Returns cannot be made for items purchased from outside the United Kingdom.
