Superb late 19th.c. adjustable table or reading stand c.1890. Height adjustable and cleverly designed to fit beside a chair or bed to be used as either a flat table or sloped stand for a book or sheet music (or a laptop or tablet perhaps). 24″ x 18″table top with folding gallery to both long edges. Angle adjustable to 13 different positions with a sprung mechanism below and height adjustable from 24″ – 38″, can also be rotated horizontally. With hinged brass candle sconce. On a polished twist patterned brass column and cast iron base with original ceramic castors. Excellent condition.
