Late 17th Century Elm Boarded Coffer Alms Box
Late 17th century elm plank coffer which either originally or later was used as some sort of alms box (there is a downward sloped 'slot' on one side of the coffer for coins). Additionally, there is a suspended lockable (key missing) box with a closable hole to one side. The coffer has a lovely rich patina and features some original chip carving to the side edges of the top. The coffer measures approximately 119cm (wide) x 33 (deep) x 44 (high)
