A delightful 1950s Kigu 'Minuette' made in the heyday of British manufacturing. It is very beautiful with elaborate guilloche engraving on the lid & the interior. The lid has a central cartouch. The exterior & interior all gilt jeweller's /jeweler's finish & signed 'KIGU' within the registered triangular trademark & the word 'Minuette' inscribed too. Turn the key clockwise & the tune plays in an adorable & quirky manner - very reminiscent of mid-century Britain. Just delightful! The original 'Dorothy bag' (pouch) & sifter are present. The whole musical powder box is in very good condition. The bevelled mirror gives a good & accurate reflection. The edges are scalloped & the base is signed 'KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND'. This 1950s Kigu ' Minuette' measures 31/4" & weighs 115.8 grams.
