An excellent example of the US Navy issue K-Bar fighting knife coming in its original issue leather sheath with securing strap to hilt section. Marked 'US NAVY' to one side of the ricasso with the maker name 'RH, PAL, MADE IN THE USA, 37' to the other for the firm 'PAL Cutlery'.
It is in excellent condition with undamaged grip & Bowie blade still good. “ this knife was given to a young girl in swanage Dorset by a US Ranger stationed in the town , in 1944 those marines were the ones that took point Hock on D. Day all this hearsay but I have no doubt what she told me was the truth. When we got the knife it had been kept in a tin from the day it was given to her and the scabbard smelt of new leather.
