John Barker-NEWPORT
A very fine longcase clock by John Barker of Newport shopshire .C 1780
Starting with the dial, This is a 13inch by wilson of Birmingham .It has rolling moon,mouth calander and painted strewbery corners.It is in very fine condition with very little restoration.
The Oak case is of very fine craftsmanship, with much decoration in mahogany .With a long trunk door,strap hinges,solid pillars with brass capitals to both trunk and hood .
Movement is 8 day running in excellent condition and very good quality workmanship.
The swan neck top has some very nice old cast brass finials.
This antique clock was removed from a shopshire manor house very close to Newport .
