This is a very attractive Meiji period Japanese parquetry cabinet with a delightful colour and exquisite detail. The parquetry work is particularly detailed throughout the piece with wonderful geometric designs. The cabinet has smart, neat proportions with three long drawers beneath a pair of panelled doors containing a further bank of six drawers all with their original decorative brassware. The cabinet sits upon a plain stand raised on Japanese hoof feet. This piece dates from around 1870 and measures 133 cms high by 64 cms wide by 36 cms deep on the stand.
