Impressive Large Mahogany Cabinet Sideboard
An impressive and generously proportioned Victorian mahogany cabinet sideboard, of particularly good quality of timber and cabinet making, featuring a raised superstructure to the rear with over-hung dentil cornice above a central cabinet glazed with cushion glass, flanked by bevel plate mirrors and raised on turned supports. The main cabinet features an arrangement of cupboards (one opening to reveal a cellaret drawer and another having two sliding trays) and drawers with Art Nouveau influenced carved decoration and brass handles, raised on turned feet. Bears maker’s or retailer’s label to the drawers ‘Edgar Bros, Oldham’.

Condition and Details of Restoration:
This item is in original untouched condition and is structurally completely sound. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some old marks underneath the polish, as might be expected and all quite minor. There is some minor foxing to the mirror plates. The upper left hand drawer is currently lined and fitted as a cutlery drawer (photo available on request). Should the client prefer, we would be happy to remove this fitting prior to sale.
