Amazing 17th century two plank oak top ,mounted on a Monastic style base crafted from earlier oak .The two plank top is full of character , amazing knots ,nut colour .
The wood for the bas e came from a farm on the Lancashire coast ,and was found under the floor boards the house was made in 1680 so the wood was earlier , it was once a flax rope making barn ,which explains the holes .we have constructed the base in the traditional mortace and tennon with off set pegs for a tremendously strong base ,the top comes off for ease to move .
