One of Heal's iconic pieces. Designed by Sir Ambrose Heal c.1935 and exhibited at the Exhibition of British Art in Industry at the Royal Academy in 1935.. The original design was for a domed top dresser in a day nursery. Hence this piece is often referred to as "The Nursery Dresser". Between 1935 and 1940 Heal's made several larger variations of this dresser with various different handles and edge decorations but always with the same layout and from golden quarter-sawn oak.The dresser is in excellent condition and has an ivorine label in the top right-hand drawer.
