Georgian Satinwood & Inlaid Writing / Library Table
A superb George III satinwood writing table with the original tooled leather top. Standing on elegant, inlaid tapered legs which terminate in the original brass castors, this is a very stylish piece. The inlay to the top and drawers is of swags and floral sprays in olive wood and hare wood. The unusual brass handles reflect these designs. The table is in good, sound condition. There are some very minor historic repairs to the top, these are not easily visible. The marks and blemishes to the leather top are to be expected in an antique piece, the colour and wear to the leather are a thing of beauty in this table. There are two working drawers and two dummy drawers, the decoration around the table is continuous, so it could be used as a centre table or placed in a freestanding position within a room. A stylish piece for any interior.
