A handsome antique Georgian tambour front cabinet in figured mahogany dating from circa 1800, originally a gentleman’s washstand or night table. With tambour front cupboard over a single drawer above a panelled door cupboard. The top lifts to reveal a space where a bowl would originally have been placed. It has beautifully figured mahogany veneers with ebony stringing to the front, with attractive turned knobs and handles and stands on bun feet. Lovely age and patina to the wood. A good quality period piece it would make a lovely side cabinet, hall cupboard, bedside or bathroom cabinet.
