A superb quality George III linen press.

c1780-1790.

To the top is a detachable moulded cornice, over two doors, having oval panelled doors, with the most wonderful ovals of highly figured solid mahogany, showing great craftsmanship and quality.

The doors open to reveal the original five oak lined, linen sliding trays. There has been a brass hanging rail added, so the slides could be removed and the space used for hanging.

The base section has an arrangement of four cock-beaded, oak lined drawers, two short over two long, with brass plate handles
Standing on splayed bracket feet.
All locks and escutcheons are present, having the original handles, with working lock and original key to the top section
Original finish to the wood, lovely patina, rich, warm glowing colour.

Dismantles to three sections.

The condition overall is very good antique condition, with general expected signs of use consistent with age.
