Antique small Georgian 18C mahogany caddy top chest of drawers (possibly originally a commode chest).
This is a lovely chest, that is full of age and character.
A rare piece with clean simple lines, very solid and heavy.
It is very rare to find period chests with such compact proportions.
The oak lined drawers slide freely. We have a key.
Overall maximum dimensions 54cmW x 45cmD x 77cmH.
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Replacement handles, repairs and alterations to the feet and other components. Internal marks and stains to the drawers as usual. No significant woodworm. Some historical cracking, but all is well glued, stabilized.
