George V presentation sword by Sanderson in its leather field scabbard. Has a nickel silver pierced hilt and back strap and a silver wire bound shagreen grip. Broad, single edged blade marked as by Sanderson brothers and Newbold Ltd, Sheffield. Acid etched blade with Royal crown and cipher on both sides and also etched with foliage. Also has some issue marks on reverse side. Etched presentation panel "Presented to V. Dunclinson by the sergeants of the 16th service battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, 1915". Sword has a good deal of original polish but some slight rust staining. In generally good, sound condition for age.

Approximately 102cm and blade 82.5cm.
