George III Tavern Gaming & Dining Table Welsh Wales oak %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A very rare and extremely beautiful Tavern drinking, dining and gaming table from the Welsh borders c1800. Featuring a beautifully grained single plank elm top supported on a Walnut and elm base.
The top having the most wonderful details and incorporating an original shove ha'penny game scratch carved into each end and a coin toss game scratch carved in the centre of the table. Shove ha'penny games are sometimes found in this manner in early tavern antique tables but we have never seen two on one table and with the addition of a coin toss game this table has far more to offer than others.
A well scrubbed top gives a beautifully tactile surface, tall at 30" which is a standard dining table height it can be sat at very comfortably and at over 6ft long can seat plenty of friends.
Legs are historically re tipped as many tables of this date are, this provides a stable and level table, strong and sturdy and suitable for everyday use.
Colour and patina are simply superb, warm and nutty with plenty of genuine age the feel and look of this table do not come any better.

Height 30" = 76cm Length 6ft 4.5" = 194cm Width 2ft = 61cm Leg room is a very generous 24.5" = 63cm
